| Grinnell receives Community Development Block Grant | | | | May 29, 2014 | | | Grinnell was awarded the Community Development Block Grant, which was awarded to Montezuma the previous year. The Grant will be used toward redoing the facade and exterior of Grinnell storefronts located on 4th and Broad Street in Grinnell's downtown area.
The grant awarded $500,000 to the project and business owners were asked to contribute half of the construction cost, making the total project a little more than $1 million.
RDG Planning and Design was hired to create concept designs for each building. The remodeling and reconstruction process has yet to be bid out but is estimated to begin next summer. | |
