OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Manager is responsible for providing accounting support to the Director of Accounting and senior management team.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Director of Accounting

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in planning and organizes all financial accounting including: preparation of financial statements and reports that accurately depict the current financial position.
• Directs daily operations of accounting department, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare payment applications, waivers and certified payroll documents for contract work being performed in and invoiced for all territories (Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and Illinois).
• Research outstanding contracts, insure contracts/change orders reconcile to ASI invoices and complete necessary information to close contracts and receive final payments.
• Work with project managers to resolve discrepancies between contracts/change orders and ASI invoices.
• Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases, computer software and manual filing systems to monitor contract receivables and reduce the number of days to collect receivables.
• Proactively seek improved methods for reducing days in receivable.
• Become familiar with and practice the company’s program for continuous process improvement
• Prepare spreadsheet reports of financial information as assigned.
• Handle other duties, which may be assigned from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Accounting manager will possess excellent communication and organizational skills. He/she serves as a key participant in the company’s accounting structure exhibiting a high level of responsibility and appropriately handling confidential and sensitive issues. He/she maintains a deep understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and advises the Director of Accounting on various accounting issues.
