Description: Responsibilities: • Supervise and encourage 30+ employees in a way that results in efficient and effective operations. • Plans and coordinates daily workload based on schedule and adapts to changing circumstances as needed. • Drives results – includes production volume and reliability, labor management, work flow, and materials loss reduction. • Ensure machinery is running properly and work with maintenance to arrange repairs. • Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety & Quality SOPs, and HACCP guidelines. Do quality checks and confer with Quality on food quality issues. • Understand and model personal safety policies, reporting any safety hazards, and actively preventing/eliminating hazards that can cause injury or illness. • Work with HR on hiring, employee relations, and termination needs. • Oversee onboarding of new employees and performance-based training and cross-training activities. • Communicate clear performance expectations and provide performance coaching. • Monitor attendance and sign off on time cards. • Lead change initiatives through continuous improvement efforts. • Foster a spirit of cooperation and respect within team and with other departments. • Other projects as assigned. Requirements: • College degree or equivalent experience. • 3+ years experience supervising groups of employees in a production environment; previous work in food environment desired. • Effective supervising a multi-cultural, multi-generational workforce. Bilingual in Spanish a real plus. • HACCP training/certification desired. • Production planning skills, process flow understanding, and inventory management experience; LEAN experience a plus. • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot machine problems. • Must be able to work in a cold room environment (32-40 degrees) and regularly lift 20 lbs. • Strong, clear communication and coaching skills. • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented. • Self-motivated and dependable. • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and previous experience using computerized payroll/labor tracking (e.g. Paycom).
