Description:
The Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of FULL TIME DISPATCHER/JAILER. This position requires 12-hour shift work, rotating weekends and holidays, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. Job duties include receiving emergency 911 calls from the public and dispatching emergency services as necessary, and rotating shifts in the county jail facility working directly with persons incarcerated. Successful applicants should possess strong communication and computer skills.
Benefits include a starting wage of $17.06 per hour increasing to $20.68, IPERS Special Service class retirement plan, full health and dental insurance, and paid vacation and holidays.
