Employment/Job Fair

Career Fair Saturday Nov 9 10am-Noon BGM School
Address: Brooklyn, IA
Date: November 9, 2019

Career Fair Saturday Nov 9 10am-Noon BGM School

Employers and High School Students and parents, can still sign up for the Career Fair Saturday, November 9, 2019 at BGM School from 10 A.M. until noon.

Come to a showcase of career opportunities of Poweshiek County. For students planning to enter the work force directly after high school and for those who are interested in pursuing post-secondary education and then a career.

Area employers are invited to gather and educate students and their parents about the abundance of occupations and opportunities that exist locally. Instead of focusing on jobs that will take students far away, we want to show them how to begin a career and potentially advance in that career within our local communities.

Represent your business at this career fair to help build attendees’ knowledge of the employment opportunities that are available locally. A rectangular table and access to electricity in the main gym will be provided for each business.

Students will identify already existing career interests and then consider new possibilities as they visit different businesses represented at the career fair. As they find potentially interesting career ideas, they will ask about the required skills and education, the employment outlook, and expected pay and benefits. This Career Fair is open to any high school juniors and seniors in Poweshiek county (and nearby areas) and is not limited to any school district.

We look forward to strengthening the community’s understanding of local career options through this event.
