Mission: Pow I-80 is a non-profit corporation, 501(c)(3), created to enhance Poweshiek Iowa and the lives of its residents through economic development activities. POW/I-80 will provide economic and community development assistance to existing and new businesses, local development organizations and governments.

Pow I-80 is investing in Poweshiek County by:

Marketing available commercial and industrial sites on five major websites and through marketing brochures and strategic mailings.

Counseling business start-ups and expansions with free confidential SCORE business assistance.

Administrating a $180,000 loan fund ONLY for start-up and expanding businesses in Poweshiek County.

Coordinating the Grinnell Renaissance program that provides façade improvement grants in downtown Grinnell for retailers and building owners.

Managing Greater Grinnell Development Corporations industrial park.

Educating existing businesses with new trends, programs, services to grow and sustain their business.

Positioning the area for success by addressing rail, housing, legislative, and transportation issues.

Responding to new industry leads in coordination with city and utility partners.

Informing shareholders of ongoing activities, projects and opportunities through our newsletter and press releases.

Providing annual on-site visits to top 30 employers in the county.

Educating manufacturers with roundtable luncheons on local, state and federal programs.

Developing new leaders through the Poweshiek Leadership Program.

Listening to needs of businesses and local government and responding with appropriate information or actions.
